Jahkanna
Jehovah-Kanna and El Kanna are both names for God that translate to “Jealous God”. It appears in Exodus 34:14, which says, “Do not worship any other god, for the Lord (Jehovah), whose name (Kanna) is Jealous (Shemo), is a jealous God. Suggesting God looks at you and me with love and attention, as a faithful and passionate bridegroom looks after his bride.
The Prefix Jah or Yah is used as the short form of Jehovah or Yahweh. Jah or Yah occurs 44 times in the bible, for example, in Exodus 17:16 “For he said, Because the LORD(Jah) hath sworn that the LORD(Jehovah) will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” Also Psalm 68:4 says, “Sing to God, sing praises to His name; extol him who rides on the clouds, by His name Yah, and rejoice before Him”
Also, God is referred to as a “consuming fire” in Deuteronomy 4:24 and 9:3. This image is often used to describe God’s anger towards the sins of nations and men. God’s jealousy is different from human jealousy, and is characterized by his righteous zeal for his own name or glory. In the Hebrew scriptures, God sometimes manifests himself through images of fire, such as a blazing torch, a pillar of fire, or the burning bush. In Malachi 3:2-3 God is referred to as a refiners fire; “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”
